According to meet director and athletes' liaison Donald Quarrie fans at today's Jamaica International Invitational at the National Stadium will see many top class sprints.

Speaking at a press launch at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Thursday, Quarrie singled out the women's 200 metres for top billing.

That event will pit 2013 World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce against last year's Invitational winner Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas and Candice McGrone of the United States, a 200 metre finalist at last year's World Championships in Beijing, China.

"The 200 metre women will be an very outstanding race because (of) Shelly and Miller and McGrone who was barely beaten out by Veronica," Quarrie said in reference to the American's narrow miss of the bronze medal won by Jamaica's Veronica Campbell-Brown in Beijing last year.

The long striding Miller beat Fraser-Pryce into third at the Invitational last year and went onto to place second in the 400 metes at the World Championships. The world championships 400m bronze medallist Shericka Jackson is also expected to run the 200m.
