Sunshine Girls take on 'ready' New Zealand
Jamaica's Sunshine Girls will find their New Zealand hosts ready to play when their three match netball tour begins tomorrow at the Trafalgar Centre in Nelsen. New Zealand, world ranked at number two, has just had competitive outings against Australia, the world champion team, and England, the world number three. Those outings produced the expected results.
New Zealand clobbered England 65-39 on August 27 in Auckland to start a tournament labelled the Quad Series. A 65-46 win over South Africa followed on August 31 in Hamilton. The Silver Ferns finished as tournament runners-up following a 55-60 loss to Australia on September 4 in Melbourne.
When Jamaica last played New Zealand, the result was a 55-48 win for the Silver Ferns at the 2015 Netball World Cup in the qualification group stage. They renew their rivalry starting tomorrow, with the three match tour by the Sunshine Girls completed by games on September 14 and September 17.
